Scholarship Fund

The Need for a Scholarship Fund
C.G.Jung wrote that analysis can be an intense and at times arduous journey ‘that taxes us to the utmost’. The training required to become a Jungian Psychotherapist reflects this; it takes a minimum of five years and for some, it can be prohibitively expensive. Thus it is intended to establish a Scholarship Fund to help those students who find the financial commitment a barrier to their training as a Jungian psychotherapist and a GAPS graduate.

Right from the very foundation of GAPS, it was emphasised that the training would be kept to the lowest costs possible. For this reason training seminars are usually held in members’ houses and student fees are kept to a minimum. In this way membership does not become exclusive or restricted only to those who can afford it.

During the training the ‘interface’ between analytical psychology and spirituality is valued and explored and affirms the spiritual nature of the psyche both in healing, development and the experience of life. By establishing a Scholarship Fund, GAPS hopes to ensure that this approach to psychotherapy continues to be central to its training programme.

How the Scholarship Fund will work:
The Fund will provide a Scholarship Grant towards the annual cost of the training course for any trainee once they have been accepted on to the GAPS training course. It will not cover analysis nor will it be intended to cover the cost of Supervision or of the Introductory Course.

Contributions to the Fund:
The establishment of a fund will depend entirely on the generosity of our benefactors. Those wishing to make a contribution are asked to contact the GAPS Coordinator through the Administrator. Contributions may be maximised through Gift Aid. All correspondence will be in the strictest confidence.
